Documentary Wedding Photography County Durham

Whenever I meet or speak with potential clients, the most common thing I get told is that ‘we hate having our picture taken’ During my time as a professional photographer I operated a number of photography studios throughout County Durham and Tyne and Wear, I photographed many weddings, more boudoir and even more portraits on a daily basis, during this time I found that it became easy for me to make even the most nervous of subjects feel comfortable in front of the camera.

I do recommend that a meeting (whether in person on over Zoom) is arranged between myself and clients, is a great way to break the ice with your photographer, it helps to establish a rapport and talk about what you want from your photography.

I can capture beautiful images with very minimal posing or we can take it to the other end of the spectrum and create posed editorial style images.

The other option which is now just as popular for wedding clients and camera averse couples is to decide on a purely natural and candid documentary style wedding.

To achieve the best results we attempt to fade into the background and watch for the special moments that occur during and throughout the wedding day. These are interactions of the guests and exchanges between the wedding couple and capturing all of the moments that tell the story of the day.

For those wondering if completely natural and un-posed images can still capture the magic of a wedding day I have uploaded some recent images below…
